Francis was interviewed by Leona Graham on Absolute Classic Rock radio on 25th September.
It was a short interview with Leona asking questions from listeners. He had some pointed comments about the Oasis reunion and the dynamic ticket pricing debacle! The familiar story of writing "Down Down" got another airing, as did the practical joke of leaving curry in hidden spots at the BBC during "Top Of The Pops".
Francis told the origin story of Quo recording "In The Army Now" before wrapping up by finally promoting his 2025 talk tour.
The full interview can be heard here.
Revisit the September 2024 event listFrancis was interviewed by Jackie Brambles on Greatest Hits Radio on 25th September.
The interviewed kicked off by talking about his 2025 solo tour (and potential for European solo shows in 20260 and Francis again suggested that more Quo gigs seem unlikely. "Marguerita Time" was then played, before discussing the format and his enjoyment of the solo shows.
"Down Down" came next and the interview moved back to the start of Francis's musical history, forming his first band with Alan and Rick joining the band after Butlin's. "Pictures of Matchstick Men" was played and Francis then continued with his historical story after this breakthrough single. In terms of inspiration, he mentioned The Beatles before talking about how Rick had been so disappointed by show business.
After "A Hard Day's Night" interrupted the chat, Francis revealed he'd contemplated leaving the band a few times but has finally realised that "he needs this" and he inevitably described himself as an "insecure little show-off"! "Whatever You Want" came next, before Francis returned to telling stories of the realities of show busines, such as the myth of riders and the bickering about the order of acts at "Live Aid" - which was an obvious segue into playing "Rockin' All Over The World". Francis talked at length about how their opening slot came about and being unaware of how big the gig was going to be.
Continuing the "Live Aid" theme, Queen's performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" was played before Jackie asked Francis for one of his "go to" songs and he went with "All My Life" (by Jeff Lynne's ELO) to close out the show.
The hour-long show can be heard here.
