Quo played in an unusual venue in Motala, Sweden, on 4th August - a converted locomotive workshop! There are some excellent official photos from this gig here.
Revisit the August 2024 event listQuo made yet another appearance at the sold out Stars in Town Festival in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, on 8th August.
A review of the festival and great photos can be found on the official festival website here.
Revisit the August 2024 event listQuo played the historic Piece Hall in Halifax on 13th August, their first time at this Grade 1-listed venue.
Support again came from Mike Peters of The Alarm and he did a great job of warming up the sold-out crowd.
An excellent review of the gig (including great photos), titled "Historic Piece Hall provides perfect backdrop for Status Quo's classic British rock" by Paul Jeeves, appeared in The Express on 14th August - it includes the following comment from the author:
"But for this reveiewer it was the near 10 minute version of Down Down that stole the show, with Rossi (twice) teasing fans to the brink of delerium before unleashing the classic intro to one of the heaviest tunes to hit the number one spot in the charts. Sublime."
Revisit the August 2024 event listThe final gig of the SQ24 tour saw Quo playing Vivary Park in Taunton on 23rd August. With recent comments from the band suggesting they may not tour again after 2024, a big crowd was assured.
The FTMO fan club organized an afternoon pre-show at The Ale House pub in Taunton, featuring two excellent Quo tribute bands, in the shape of The Quo Story and Break The Rules. It was a sold-out event, with Rhino, Leon and Richie popping in - and even playing with The Quo Story on "Paper Plane"! Richie and Leon look very pleased to be there in this great photo from the pub!
The big crowd packed the outdoor venue quite early and enjoyed fine conditions as the support band, Nine Below Zero, took the stage. They were a blast from the past but went down well while the masses awaited their idols. Quo took the stage about 9pm as usual and played the same set as for most of the SQ24 tour, including the full three-song encore of "Don't Waste My Time", "Paper Plane" and "Burning Bridges".
An excellent set of official photos from the "Live In Somerset" festival organisers can be seen here.
Many fans returned to The Ale House for the FTMO after party, all wondering the same thing - was this Quo's last ever live gig? Will "Burning Bridges" really be the last song they play live?! Only time will reveal the answers to these questions...
